Genesis – Where it all began (Week 20)
A study through the book of Genesis (Week 20) – “Genesis – Where it all began”
Genesis 23
- How could Sarah and soon Abraham die before seeing many of the promises of God? (Hebrews 11:8-10) Are there promises God has made to us that will not come to pass till long after we are gone?
- Abraham is esteemed and blessed by the unbelieving people around him. (Genesis 23:5-11) How did that fit with God’s promise (Genesis 12:2-3)? Are there any applications in this for us?
- With the first funeral mentioned in the Bible (Genesis 23:19) we see that life goes by fast. How can we capitalize on each day in light of the brevity of life? (James 4:14; Psalm 39:4; Psalm 90:12)
- This is the closing of the generation of Sarah and Abraham as they transition to the next generation. What are the challenges as one generation goes and the next comes into the spot light?
