Acts Week 24

Conviction Versus Conversion

Acts 24
  1. How prevalent is it to have people feel conviction that the Bible is true and even feel fear over the consequences of their sins, yet not turn in faith so as to be converted? (Acts 24:24-25, Matthew 7:22-23, Romans 1:32; Romans 4:1-5)
  2. How should we handle truth that makes others uncomfortable or offends them? How does this fit in a culture of toxic empathy (empathy that excuses and enables sinful behavior while being silent towards the truth in order to avoid discomfort)? (Acts 24:24)
  3. How do we handle God’s sovereignty in seasons of waiting, like Paul’s imprisonment? (Acts 24:27)
  4. Felix was afraid but unrepentant. What causes people including us to delay our response to God? (Acts 24:24-26, Hebrews 3:15)
