Genesis 47

1. Why was there such a severe famine in the land God had promised to them (Genesis 35:1,6; 47:4), when God is able to control the rain and weather (Matthew 5:45; Matthew 8:25-27)?
2. Would it have been a blessing or a curse to live in a land and be provided for (Genesis 45:17-18) yet live among a people who despised them and their way of life (Genesis 43:32; 46:34)
3. Where did Jacob really want to be? (Genesis 47:30) How did God bless him yet not in all the ways he would have liked? How does He do the same in our lives?
4. What can we apply from Genesis 47?
