  1. Why do people chafe at someone else correcting or directing them? How are Christians different from the world in this? (Proverbs 12:1; II Timothy 3:16-17)
  2. How could Philemon know all the truths about God and the need for forgiveness, yet need Paul to point him to practice forgiveness in regards to Onesimus? (II Timothy 3:16-17)
  3. Philemon did not need a biblical discussion on why to forgive he simply needed to be pointed to forgive. How does that show his maturity? When have you seen the opposite?
  4. How could Paul command Philemon to forgive? Isn’t forgiveness a feeling as well as a personal issue between Philemon and Onesimus? (Philemon 1:8-9)
