Genesis 42
  1. Jacob’s sons were staring down starvation yet doing nothing. How can fear be debilitating? (Genesis 42:1, Matthew 25:24-28)
  2. Is Ruben thinking rightly that their actions all those years ago are coming back on them now? (Genesis 42:21-22) Are there things you are doing now, that will not in some way come back to you? (Galatians 6:7-9)
  3. The brothers see these events as God doing this to them. Was that true? (Genesis 48:28) What can we learn from their experience?
  4. Why is Joseph so intent on testing his brothers to finding out if they are honest men? (Genesis 42:11,18,33) Are there any ways that you are being tested in your life? (Psalm 11:4; Psalm 139:23-24; Proverbs 17:3; Jeremiah 17:10)
