I Corinthians 13

Homework: Rewrite I Corinthians 13:4-7 replacing the word love each time with your own name. Now read the verses to your family. When you read them aloud, do any of these elements cause you to pause, and think that may not be descriptive of me? (Share how this goes with your small group)

1. What do you find most surprising about God’s definition of love? (13:4-7)
2. What is the biggest difference between God’s love, and how the world views love?
3. How is love the only one of these qualities that will still be operational in the eternal state? (13:9-13) How does it affect your life, knowing your future is with God in the presence of perfect love?
4. How does a person grow in love, so the elements described in verse 4-7 are more and more descriptive of them? (I Thess 3:12, I John 2:5-6)
